With our client base expanding, we are looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our PR team. You will have a qualification in communications, business or public relations and/or have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a PR / communications role.

Here are some of the core responsibilities for this role:
- Take ownership of projects, driving them forward and ensuring successful completion with all stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively present solutions for consideration by the senior account team in respect of client challenges or growth opportunities.
- Proven ability in relation to social/digital media and a willingness to continue to expand training and knowledge in areas including, but not limited to, content development, platform optimisation, and design.
- Manage clients’ social media accounts, creating engaging and original content.
- Develop and refine web content, supporting clients with website updates.
- Track and analyse media coverage, turning insights into clear, actionable reports.
- Build strong relationships with clients and the media including pitching stories to media outlets.
- Research, draft, and distribute compelling press materials that capture attention.
- Maintain and update media lists and databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Conduct in-depth desk research to support campaigns or business development.
- Create engaging content for internal communication platforms, such as newsletters.
- Work with or manage third-party agencies to execute impactful media campaigns.
- Brainstorm and generate new ideas for innovative client communication activities.
- Monitor and analyse media, social media, and public sentiment to guide planning.
- Handle administrative tasks to keep everything running smoothly.
- Work with and support the client team (Account Manager, Account Director, as required).
- Be ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed in this role to support the team and service the clients.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to create strong relationships with clients
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience with Adobe or Canva or similar design/editing tools
- Experience with social media channels and content creation
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations
- The ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- The ability to prioritise with meticulous attention to detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- The ability to troubleshoot and focus on solutions
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft
- Ability to travel freely around Europe for project meetings.

Account Director (Corporate)
Carr Communications is looking for an experienced Account Director to join our exceptional PR team. One of Ireland’s best-known communications companies, we celebrated 50 years in 2023. Named one of the Best Places to Work in 2025, we provide strategic communications support, training and behavioural science insights to some of the biggest clients in the public and private sector, at home and around the world.
We’re looking for an experienced Account Director to join our exceptional PR team. You will have a qualification in communications or public relations and have at least five years’ agency experience working in a mid-level PR / communications role, primarily with corporate clients. This is a senior client-facing role for a strategic thinker with experience in varied corporate PR issues, crises and campaigns.
This role is perfect for someone with a positive, hard-working attitude who has experience leading on retainer clients, and managing the in-house client teams to ensure our clients receive the highest possible standard of service. We are looking to fill this role quickly.
As Account Director, you will direct the team, provide strategic advice and guidance to our long-term retainer clients, advise on thought leadership for corporate clients and oversee the delivery of communication campaigns, using a combination of traditional, digital and social media tools and techniques. You will also be required to actively drive and contribute to ongoing business development at Carr Communications.

Here are some of the core responsibilities for this role:
- Lead and oversee multiple client retainer accounts to the highest standard.
- Act as the strategic lead and primary point of contact across client accounts, providing senior counsel to client teams.
- Advise clients on communications strategies aligned to business objectives, including issues management, stakeholder engagement and crisis communications.
- Direct the planning, development and delivery of integrated communications campaigns, including strategy development, branding and positioning, messaging, media materials, stakeholder communications, speeches, timelines and social content.
- Generate fresh, strategic communications ideas and campaign opportunities for clients.
- Monitor and analyse the media and broader business environment to identify trends, risks and opportunities for clients.
- Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals across retainer accounts and project-based work.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback and coaching to junior team members, supporting their professional development.
- Ensure budgets, timelines, invoicing and project deliverables are managed effectively and delivered to a high standard.
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities within existing accounts and proactively supporting new business development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, media and key stakeholders.
Stay up to date on industry trends, best practice and emerging communications tools and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proven experience advising senior client teams and providing solutions-focused strategic counsel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across retainer accounts and short-term projects.
